It’s not an hour when Main Beach, even given its summer popularity, sees many people.
But as the sun rose Sunday, members of the community gathered on the sand with congregants of the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church for an Easter Service.
Worshipping with the dawn of Easter has been a tradition for the church the last 25 years. When Mother Nature throws them a weather curve, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ might move up to the church’s sanctuary, as it did last year, but the fellowship travels well.
Along with singing and a message from the church’s pastor, the sunrise service offered an open-table communion and at the end the worshipers helped decorate a cross with flowers and blew bubbles in celebration.
