1. JSerra 20-0 (2): The Lions’ young talent proved itself in an 18-7 win against previously top-ranked and undefeated Orange Lutheran on Tuesday. JSerra plays host to Mater Dei on Thursday night.
2. Orange Lutheran 18-1 (1): The Lancers will aim to rebound at Santa Margarita on Thursday.
3. Huntington Beach 16-1 (5): The surging Oilers, led by QB Roxie Shaia, became the first team to beat Newport Harbor in the three-year history of the Sunset League with an 18-12 win on Monday.
4. Newport Harbor 19-2 (3): Scarlett Guyser rushed for three TDs and threw another, and Skylie Cid had two interceptions, in a 27-7 win against Edison on Wednesday.
5. Santa Margarita 18-4 (4): Madi Lam completed 27 of 35 passes for 303 yards and four TDs in a 37-8 victory against Mater Dei on Tuesday.
6. Canyon 17-1 (6): The Comanches edged Cypress 34-33 and Sonora 7-6 this week to improve to 6-0 in the Crestview League.
7. Cypress 17-6 (not ranked): The Centurions have won seven of their past eight games, including the Silver Division at the Battle at the Beach tournament. On Wednesday, they knocked off Esperanza 28-19.
8. Esperanza 13-5 (7): The Aztecs (4-2 in the Crestview) play host to Sonora and Canyon next week.
9. Edison 14-9 (9): The Chargers travel to Marina on Monday and play host to Corona del Mar on Wednesday.
10. Mater Dei 12-6 (8): The Monarchs trek to JSerra on Thursday and play host to Orange Lutheran on Tuesday.
