It started as a senior prank 16 years ago, but today, graduates jumping in the campus pool while still wearing their school uniforms is not only condoned by school administrators, it’s part of their official senior activities.
After morning mass and a senior award ceremony, about 300 graduates at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano ran to, and jumped in, the cool pool — while still in their “church clothes.”
Other senior events included a 10-mile reflective walk from San Clemente to JSerra’s campus to honor the legacy of school alum Tim Vorenkamp, who died in 2016 from a rare cancer, and a trip to Catalina Island.
JSerra’s Class of 2025 will celebrate commencement on May 31.
