More than 100 girls basketball teams from Orange County, Arizona, Nevada, Canada and Australia will ramp up preparation for the 2025-26 high school season by playing in the H.O.P.E. Showcase this weekend in North Orange County.
The showcase runs Friday through Sunday at Fullerton College, Fullerton High, Sonora, Troy and Rosary.
Orange County’s top entries include Mater Dei, Sage Hill, San Clemente, JSerra and Villa Park.
Mater Dei, which went wire-to-wire as the county’s No. 1-ranked team last season, opens the showcase against Mountain View of Arizona on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Fullerton College.
Mater Dei has added transfer Noelle Mulvanny, a 6-foot forward from Phoenix Prep in Arizona, Monarchs coach Jody Wynn confirmed. The senior is committed to UC San Diego.
Sage Hill highlights its schedule by facing Oak Park on Saturday at Fullerton College at 6 p.m.
Lightning senior guard Amalia Holguin recently committed to Texas.
The top non-county entries in the field of 110 teams include three-time defending California Open Divison champion Etiwanda, Ontario Christian and Centennial.
Daily admission to the showcase is $20.
The basketball season in the Southern Section starts Nov. 17.
