Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt flipped his commitment to USC from Ohio State.

Monarchs wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. didn’t sign with Ohio State, his long-held commitment.

Yes, it was an eventful National Signing Day for Mater Dei on Wednesday.

The news of Dixon-Wyatt’s switch surfaced early in the morning.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior signed with the Trojans’ No. 1-ranked recruiting class.

Dixon-Wyatt, who is known for his acrobatic catches, committed to Ohio State in early May to join Henry among the Buckeyes’ pledges.

Henry, a speedy, 6-foot-5, 205-pound senior, posted on his social media at 11:45 a.m. that he hadn’t signed.

Wednesday kicked off the early signing period for football that runs through Friday.

“I have not signed yet,” Henry wrote on X. “Still trying to weigh my options due to coaching changes. I just want to make the right decision for my future.”

On Wednesday, Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline was named the coach at South Florida.

Henry transferred to Mater Dei from Withrow High in Cincinnati before the 2024 season. He was already committed to Ohio State.

Henry is ranked by Rivals as the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026 in California. He is the son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Henry, who died in 2009.

Dixon-Wyatt joined a few of his teammates in USC’s recruiting class, ranked No. 1 by Rivals and 247sports.

Mater Dei tight end Mark Bowman, defensive tackle Tomuhini Topui and linebacker Shaun Scott also signed with the Trojans.
