Orange County girls basketball Top 25: Sage Hill and Mater Dei still in lead

The Orange County girls basketball rankings as of Tuesday, Feb. 3. The team records are through Monday, Feb. 2.

Notable this week: Sage Hill and Mater Dei remain first and second, respectively, after clinching league titles. Sage Hill claimed the Pacific Coast League while Mater Dei captured the Trinity League. … JSerra climbs one spot to No. 3 on the strength of a 2-1 record in the second round of the Trinity League. … Fairmont Prep rises one position to No. 4 after extending its winning streak to four games.

ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL TOP 25

1. Sage Hill (23-4): The Lightning will aim for an undefeated Pacific Coast League title when they play at St. Margaret’s on Tuesday.

2. Mater Dei (23-5): Rachel Goran scored a career-high 14 points in a 60-46 victory against JSerra on Monday as the Monarchs finished undefeated in the Trinity League.

3. JSerra (19-6): The Lions finished in a three-way tie for second place in the Trinity League but opted out of the league playoff for health reasons.

4. Fairmont Prep (15-11): The Huskies ride a four-game winning streak into their San Joaquin League tournament final against Pacifica Christian on Tuesday.

8. Beckman (22-5): Natasha Jafari made a reverse layup with 4.7 seconds left to rally the Patriots to a 48-46 win at San Juan Hills and help clinch the outright South Coast League title.
