ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS SOCCER TOP 10

(Records through Sunday, Feb. 1)

1. Santa Margarita 14-1-2: The Eagles enter their Trinity League finale at Orange Lutheran on Monday night with a 2-1-2 record in league, good for a one-point lead ahead of JSerra (2-2-1). Santa Margarita can capture the league title outright with a victory. The Eagles built momentum for the match by beating Mater Dei 4-1 last week. Previous ranking: 1

2. JSerra 7-3-2: The Lions (2-2-1 in league) play at Mater Dei on Monday night with a chance to claim the Trinity League title with a win and a tie or loss by Santa Margarita at Orange Lutheran. Previous ranking: 4

3. Mater Dei 11-2-6: The Monarchs enter their Trinity League finale with a 1-1-3 record and a chance for the league title. Mater Dei needs to defeat JSerra on Monday night and hope for Santa Margarita ties or falls at Orange Lutheran. Previous ranking: 2

4. Huntington Beach 12-0-5: The Oilers play host to Los Alamitos in the semifinals of the Sunset League tournament on Monday night. Huntington Beach played Newport Harbor to a 2-2 tie last week in its league finale. Previous ranking: 3

5. San Clemente 14-1-4: The Tritons enter their South Coast League finale at Aliso Niguel on Tuesday with a 5-0-2 league record (12 points) and a one-point lead against Aliso Niguel. San Clemente can clinch the title outright with a win or a tie. Previous ranking: 6

6. Orange Lutheran 3-2-7: The Lancers take the pitch for their Trinity League final against Santa Margarita with a 0-1-4 record in league. Their last win was Jan. 9 against Millikan. Previous ranking: 5

7. Aliso Niguel 11-4-5: The Wolverines carry a 4-0-3 record (11 points) into their clash against San Clemente on Tuesday. Aliso Niguel can claim the South Coast League title with a win. Previous ranking: 7

8. Edison 10-7-2: The Chargers play host to Newport Harbor in the semifinals of the Sunset League tournament on Monday night. Previous ranking: 9

9. Canyon 13-3-2: The Comanches ride a 12-match winning streak into a clash at El Dorado on Monday. Canyon has claimed the outright Crestview League title. Previous ranking: 10

10T. Capistrano Valley 7-5-4: The Cougars generated one goal in losses to San Clemente and Aliso Niguel last week. Capistrano Valley can clinch third place in the South Coast League with a win or tie at El Toro on Tuesday. Previous ranking: 8

10T. Newport Harbor 12-5-4: Sadie Taketa and Cassie Jacoby scored second-half goals as the Sailors rallied for a 2-2 draw against Huntington Beach last week. Previous ranking: Not ranked
