A female pedestrian was critically injured during a hit-and-run vehicle crash in Newport Beach, authorities said.
Officers dispatched about 10:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, to the area of MacArthur Boulevard and Coast Highway found the pedestrian laying in the roadway, Newport Beach police said.
Paramedics took her to a trauma center, where she was in critical condition. Police did not disclose her age.
“The initial investigation found a vehicle struck this pedestrian and fled,” police said in a statement. “The suspect vehicle is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.”
