Angel Stadium regularly hosts Major League Baseball players, but it has also hosted college and high school players and even Little League players. Friday night it hosted Banana Ball players.
On a barnstorming tour of the country, the Savannah Bananas played the first of two games at the Anaheim stadium, bringing with them their entertaining version of America’s pastime.
With a pitcher on stilts, choreographed dancing during the third inning and rules to keep the game fast-paced and fun, the baseball version of the Harlem Globetrotters has drawn a big, or at least curious, fan base and sold out its two games in Anaheim. On Friday, the team was playing the Firefighters, one of its three partner touring teams.
