South Korean chain Lotteria announces opening date of first U.S. location

Noted as one of South Korea’s most popular fast food chains, Lotteria has announced the opening date of its first-ever U.S. location. The restaurant is slated to open on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Fullerton.

The inaugural U.S. location, which has undergone a renovation from the studs up, will open on a site formerly operated by KFC.

In related food news, Korean grocery store H Mart (unrelated to Lotteria) will open a sprawling 70,000-square-foot supermarket and food hall on Thursday, Aug. 7 in Westminster, taking over the site a closed Vons Pavilion at the Pavilions Place shopping center on Beach Boulevard. “The sprawling H Mart will feature 11 restaurants in a food hall, similar in size and concept to Mercado González in Costa Mesa,” the Register reports.
