Michelle Aguirre was tapped to fill in as the county of Orange’s top exec after Frank Kim’s retirement last year and after a national search, the Board of Supervisors named her the permanent CEO on Tuesday, June 10.
The board is expected to consider her employment contract at its June 24 meeting, but approved the appointment during a closed session on Tuesday.
The supervisors were meeting on Tuesday to discuss the more than $10 billion budget Aguirre will oversee as CEO. The county employs more than 18,000 people and provides community services ranging from public health to regional parks, county public works to law enforcement.
