Headed to the OC Fair this week? Here are some things to know.
General information:
• Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
• General admission is $13 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $15 on Fridays and weekends; tickets are $9 every day for children 6-12 and seniors 60 and older.
• Tickets must be purchased ahead online at ocfair.com. Daily attendance is capped at about 50,000 people and may sell out on popular days.
• Parking is $15
• OC Fair Express runs weekends, with direct bus service from the ARTIC station in Anaheim, Fullerton Park-and-Ride, Goldenwest Transportation Center in Huntington Beach, the Laguna Hills Transportation Center and the Santa Ana train station. Things to do:
• The fair’s annual 5K is Sunday, Aug. 10, with participants running or walking a route that takes them past the midway, the Centennial Farm and other favorite spots before the crowds show up for the day. Find out about registration at ocfair5k.com.
• Out at the Fair on Saturday, Aug. 9, will celebrate the LGBTQ community from noon to 6 p.m. at the Plaza Pacific Stage.
• There will be a barnyard fashion parade on Aug. 6 and throughout the week, adults and youth exhibitors will be showcasing dairy goats, rabbits and cavies.
• Taste test fair food with the daily $5 deals offered by vendors before 4 p.m.
• The Wimberley Bluegrass Band will perform nightly this week at 8:15 p.m. on the Promenade Stage.
In the Action Sports Arena (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):
• Aug. 6: Mowterized Mayhem featuring motorized lawnmower and tricycle races at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 7: Mowterized Mayhem featuring motorized lawnmower and tricycle races at 7:30 p.m.
