2 dead, 5 injured in collision involving OCTA bus in Fullerton

Two people were killed and five others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash involving an Orange County Transportation Authority bus in Fullerton on Saturday morning, April 12.

At around 6:45 a.m., the Fullerton Police Department responded to the intersection of East Orangethorpe Avenue and South State College Boulevard, where a white Tesla ran a red light and entered the intersection, striking the passenger side of a gray Toyota pickup, police said.

The Tesla then crashed into the side of an OCTA bus.

The female passenger of the Tesla was declared dead at the scene. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Five bus passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The bus and pickup drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
