A new permanent supportive housing community in Santa Ana is offering long-term stability to some of Orange County’s most vulnerable residents, including survivors of domestic violence.
WISEPlace on Broadway, developed by the nonprofit WISEPlace in partnership with Jamboree Housing Corporation, officially opened its doors this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony held Wednesday.
The 48-unit development includes 47 furnished studio apartments with private bathrooms and kitchenettes for extremely low-income individuals, plus one unit for an on-site manager.
Santa Ana has also issued 25 vouchers to subsidize rent at the new complex. Of those, 15 are reserved for domestic violence survivors. Officials say it’s the first supportive housing site in Orange County with that type of designation.
The new complex arrives as the county continues to grapple with a worsening homelessness crisis, including a 28% rise in homelessness over the past two years.
The city of Santa Ana, however, has recorded a reduction in homelessness by 19% over the past five years, in part because of dedicated housing projects like this one.
“WISEPlace on Broadway is so much more than a building – it is a community where lives will be transformed,” said WISEPlace CEO Brateil Aghasi. “This new permanent supportive housing development will not only provide a roof over someone’s head, but also offer the resources and support needed to rebuild lives and create lasting change.”

Each resident has access to support services, wellness and counseling spaces, and shared amenities, including a community courtyard, fitness room and 24-hour onsite staff.
The development cost $28.6 million and was funded through a mix of city, county, state and federal sources, officials said, as well as private partners including Bank of America and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
One resident identified only as Ange said of the new housing community: “I am safe, and I am home. I’m grateful to be in a healing place that is finally home.”
