Southern California after-school worker arrested for inappropriate contact

Authorities announced the arrest of a Southern California after-school program employee on Friday, who is suspected of inappropriate contact with students and who may have more victims.

Deputies began their investigation at a middle school on the 23000 block of Eucalyptus Avenue in Moreno Valley on Oct 28. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department did not name the school, but Sunnymead Middle School is located at 23996 Eucalyptus Avenue.

“Investigators learned 27-year-old Walter Henry Harrison, of Moreno Valley, had inappropriate contact with at least four students who attend the middle school and attend the after-school program,” the sheriff’s department said.

A search warrant was served on Oct. 30 at Harrison’s address on the 14600 block of Cessna Lane, where authorities reported that evidence was collected, but Harrison was not home.

Special Victims Unit investigators located Harrison on Wednesday in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Hughes Alley in Riverside, where he was taken into custody without incident.

“Harrison was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on multiple counts of sending harmful material with intent to seduce a minor,” the sheriff’s department said.

Investigators released Harrison’s picture, believing that there may be additional victims.
