The Bowers Museum will give visitors a first look at several new pieces in its permanent collection starting on Aug. 30.
“First Look: New Acquisitions at Bowers Museum” will rotate annually, offering a “jewel-box” exhibition with “a rare peek behind the scenes into the ever-evolving heart of the museum — its collection.”
There will be indigenous art pieces to contemporary pieces displayed as well as global textiles, museum officials said.
Also from 7 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 30 will be KCRW Summer Nights at Bowers Museum, an after-hours celebration with a DJ, food and other fun. Museum admission will be sold seperately.
And still on display through Oct. 19 is the “World of the Terracotta Warriors” exhibit.
